Polly Bright Cox

Mrs. Polly Bright Cox, age 88, a resident of Washington, died Friday, June 10, 2016 at her home. A private graveside memorial service will be held. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

Mrs. Cox was born in Lenoir County on July 5, 1927, daughter of the late Leonard Frank Bright and the late Lillian B Parrish. She was a 1944 graduate of Winterville High School. On August 1, 1960 she married Frank Warren Cox Jr. who preceded her in death on June 22, 1998. Mrs. Cox worked as an associate at Roses of Washington for twenty-two years. She was a member of Unity Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter: Frances Louise Cox of Washington; two sons: Frank W. Cox III of Chocowinity and David Lee Cox of Punta Gorda, FL; three grandchildren: David Lee Cox Jr., Alexandra N. Stoffel and Christopher B. Stoffel  and two great-grandchildren: Jayel E. and Cyrus L. Cox. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death along with her parents and husband by a daughter: E. Cathy Cox; a brother: Frank Bright and a sister: Nancy Louise Taylor; and stepmother: Catherine Clifton Jewell Bright
