Virginia Dare McDuffie Marlar, 80, died Sunday, November 11, 2007, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in Bradenton, Florida.
Mrs. Marlar, a native of Tupelo, Mississippi, lived much of her life in Tuscumbia, Ala., and Huntsville, Ala. After her husband’s retirement, they briefly lived in Cape Coral, Fla., prior to making her home in the Greenville and Washington area for the past 20 years.
She was a member of Oakmont Baptist Church in Greenville.
Mrs. Marlar was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, her husband, Clarence B. Marlar, a special grandson, Jeremy Kristopher Marlar, and daughter-in-law Patti Heffner Marlar.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Don Marlar and wife, Martha, of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Jackie Marlar Maneval and husband, Don, of Chocowinity, N.C.; and grandchildren, Kelli Marlar Walker and husband, Mark, and Ryan Patrick Marlar, all of Gainesville, Fla.
Arrangements are by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory, Greenville.
