Kimberly Brickhouse Davenport, 51, of 427 Edgewater Road, Columbia, died late Friday, July 13, 2018 at Chesapeake Regional Health Center in Virginia.

Born in Chowan County, March 1, 1967, she was the daughter of Patricia Basnight Brickhouse and the late David Ronald Brickhouse.  She was married to John David Davenport who survives. Surviving in addition to her mother and husband are a daughter, Mindy Davenport Sykes and husband, Allen “Peanut”; a sister, Rhoda Brickhouse Cooper and husband, Chris all of Columbia; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Columbia High School Class of 1985 and earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Beaufort County Community College in 1987.  Kim was employed as Finance Bookkeeper/Benefits Coordinator for Tyrrell County Schools and was credentialed as a Certified School Business Manager. She had been with Tyrrell County Schools for 13 years and at the central office since 2014.  A devoted Tyrrell County resident, she served for a number of years on the Rural Health Board.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Soundside Missionary Baptist Church.  Pastor Stephen Duncan and Rev. Gina Miller will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Columbia Chapel of Bryan Funeral Service and other times at the home.
