Stephen “Steve” Baldwin

Mr. Stephen Bryan “Steve” Baldwin, age 63, a resident of Jackson Swamp Road, Bath, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, after a brief battle with lung cancer at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 80 Cedar Circle, Washington, conducted by his brother, John Baldwin. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Hosea Fountain Cemetery, 1761 – 1809 Fountaintown Road, Chinquapin.

The following will serve as pallbearers: his nephews, Matthew Baldwin, John Baldwin II, Brennan Baldwin; his brother, Henry Baldwin Jr.; and cousins, Paige Murphy and Robert Bryan.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the church.

Mr. Baldwin was born in Raleigh, on March 31, 1955. He was the son of the late Henry Wilson Baldwin and Dorothy Marie Bryan Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was a graduate of Appalachian State University. He worked in Raleigh, most recently at Cintas Uniform Company, before he moved to Bath 15 years ago to manage the Quarterdeck and work nights at the Bath General Store. He was known for eating out every day at the Country Kitchen, collecting and shooting his guns, being an avid reader of history and watching NASCAR races. Steve was a friend to all.

Mr. Baldwin is survived by two brothers, John Wilton Baldwin and his wife, Cindy, of Bath, Henry Wilson Baldwin, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Raleigh; and eight nieces and nephews.
