The Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility will be closed Saturday in observance of the Easter holiday.

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs and ENC Shelter Cats on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

Precious

At 3 months old, this little white, red and black Beagle-mix girl is full of love, friendliness and fun. Precious will do best with a loving, attentive and active family who will be mindful of her young age, consult with her veterinarian for her best care, spend time with her, include her in their activities, give her age appropriate obedience training and exercise — play may be included — in a fenced area or on a leash and, of course, a good forever home.

Come meet this adorable puppy, Precious, ID No. 0453. She’s available at the shelter.

Gill

This good-looking, medium-size, 6-month-old tabby boy is friendly, playful and loves being showered with attention. He’s smartly dressed in his shorthair coat with colors of champagne, buff and ebony stripes; his rosebud nose and amber eyes will melt your heart.  Gill will make a wonderful pet and a welcome addition in a good and loving forever home setting. Come meet Gill, ID No. 0436. He’s available at the shelter.
