Peggy Jean Woolard Pippin

Mrs. Peggy Jean Woolard Pippin, age 74, a resident of 398 Turkey Trot Road #2, Washington, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019, at home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Mr. Ethan Coltrain and Mr. Lance Pippin. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

Scott Martin, Michael Bowen, Blake Bullock, Mike Tetterton, Jr., Stacey Pippin, Charlie Pippin and Drew Pippin will serve as pallbearers. Don Martin, Jeff Bowen, Ed Pippin and G.K. Pippin will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Pippin was born March 8, 1945, in Beaufort County to the late Ernel and Pearl Alligood Woolard. She was a 1963 graduate of Bath High School. On Nov. 4, 1967, she married Marion Ray Pippin, who survives. She was a secretary with the Beaufort ASCS Office, Joseph Giddings Accountant, Mayhue Edwards, CPA and G.E. Jackson. Mrs. Pippin was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ where she served in the choir, taught Sunday School, assisted with VBS and was very inspirational with Thanksgiving services and devotions.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Pippin, Sr., of the home; three children, Vivian L. Allen and husband Mark, of Winston-Salem, Ray Pippin, Jr. and wife Beth, of Washington, and Jeanea L. Boyd and husband Jamie, of Pinetown; nine grandchildren, Shawn, Lea, Tripp, Hayes, Nash, Braxton, Emma, Topper and Gage; four sisters, Linda Martin (Wayne), Nelda Bowen (Glenn), Melitta Bullock (Ward), Lori Tetterton (Mike); four brothers-in-law, Colby Pippin, Don Pippin (Donna), Gordon Pippin (Josie), Freddie Pippin (Brenda); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, W.A. and Ruby Pippin; step-grandson, Tyler Allen; two great-nephews, Nathan Martin and Jonathan Phillips.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to: First Church of Christ, Toni Webster/Barbara Williams/Sierra Harris with Oak Tree Home Care and Emily Houston with Asera Care Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
