Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear brother, Elton Ray Bonner, of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Elton fought the good fight and finished his course on Thursday, May 21, 2020, after battling complications with the COVID-19 virus.

Elton was born on Feb. 18, 1959, in New Haven, Connecticut. He attended Hamden High School, where he thrived in auto shop. He used his thoughtful, kind, witty demeanor and love of cars to pursue a career as a professional limousine driver.

He is survived by his three children, Danielle Nicole Bonner, Eric Ray Bonner, Taryn Renee Bonner (Andre); three grandchildren, Daylin, Dallas and Ari; his mother, Thelma Bonner; and five siblings, Harold W. Bonner, Louetta Gardin, Dennis M. Bonner, Francenia Bonner and Jacqueline Bonner. He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Lee Bonner.

Your prayers are solicited. Due to the pandemic, there will be no viewing or funeral services; the family will hold a private memorial in his honor. In lieu of visitation, your cards of solace and/or flowers are greatly appreciated and may be sent to our Mother at:

Mrs. Thelma Bonner, 612 Plymouth St., Washington, NC 27889.
