Mrs. Ada Tripp Wilder of 2125 Hardwood Road, District Heights, Md., died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.
A visitation service will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to noon in the chapel of Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Wilder was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ada Holliday Tripp. She graduated from the former Washington City Public School system. She furthered her studies at the former Elizabeth City Teachers College and New York University. She was married to James Wilder Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a retired teacher and a musician. She was a member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, Washington, and was affiliated with Patterson Asbury A.M.E. Zion Church, Baltimore, Md.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Washington Little of District Heights, Md.; an adopted daughter, Jeanette Bastick; an adopted sister, Mable Atkins; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Wilder Jr.
The family will receive friends at the home of Geraldine Walker, 224 W. Fifth St., Washington.
