Mrs. Carrie Lee Jones Griffin, 84, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Washington, with the Rev. Cornelius Paige officiating. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Griffin was born Oct. 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Latham and Callie Jones. She attended Mother of Mercy Catholic School. She was a retired housekeeper. She was a member of the Catholic Church for more than 50 years. She was married to Joseph Baker “Seegoo” Griffin, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Greta Paige of Washington, Mary T. Williams of Chocowinity and Marian Henman of Richmond, Va.; six sons, Donnie Griffin of Stone Mountain, Ga., Joseph Griffin and Michael Griffin, both of Washington, Larry Griffin of Atlanta, Ga., Kenneth Griffin of Richmond, Va., and John M. Griffin of Raleigh; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters and one son.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Greta Paige, 131 William Drive, Washington.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
