Mr. Jasper L. “Jay” Mills Jr., 77, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Hugh Burlington officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Mills was born in Black Jack, but lived most of his life in Greenville. He was formerly employed at Greenville Marble and Granite Works, White (Phelps) Chevrolet and retired as sales manager of M &W Chevrolet. He was a member of Crown Point Masonic Lodge no. 708 A. F. &A. M. and Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Eleanor Haynes Mills; one son, Don Mills of Greenville; one daughter, Janet Mills Joyner of Washington; one sister, Bessie Mills Lancaster of Greenville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Lee Mills and Mae Bell Buck Mills and a brother-in-law, Sonny Lancaster.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home today from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and other times at the home.
