Mr. Jimmy Tyson, 60, of Winterville, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Unity Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Tyson was a native of the Calico community of Pitt County. He was the son of the late Joseph and Bessie Adams Tyson. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at Daughtridge Oil and Gas Co. as a computer programmer for the past 25 years. He was married to Vicki Davenport Tyson, who survives. He was a member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Natalie Victoria Tyson; one son, Steve Canaday of Winterville; three grandchildren; two brothers, Bernice E. Tyson and Jesse Tyson, both of Washington; and one sister, Ann T. Willard of Vanceboro.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Keith Tyson.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.
