Mrs. Mable Haughton Boone, 83, of 407 Madison St., Plymouth, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Long Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. Dr. General James officiating. Burial will follow in McNair Cemetery, Plymouth.
Mrs. Boone was born in Washington County on Jan. 22, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Elizabeth Hedgebeth Haughton. She was married to John Lee Boone, who survives. She was a Daughter of the Order of the Elks of the World, a member of Leisurettes, a local women’s club; and a volunteer in the breast cancer prevention association. She was a member of Long Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a Church Mother, and member of the choir and church circle.
Survivors include one daughter, Leslie Sharon Boone and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Adrian Boone; three sisters and two brothers.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Long Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, Plymouth.
