A Greenville man was arrested by Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigators after he was seen leaving a house known by authorities for its drug trade, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office drug unit.

On April 2, Billy Jo Smallwood, 26, of Belvoir Highway, Greenville, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a search of his vehicle and Smallwood’s pockets, turned up two plastic bags containing 70 grams of marijuana, along with empty bags for repackaging, said the release.

The house in question is in the Washington area, according to a spokesman for the drug unit.

Smallwood was released under a $2,500 unsecured bond.
