This silliness between the sheriff and Commissioner Richardson has gone on long enough. Speaking as someone who has worked in the jail in the past 20 years, even in my time, it was in terrible, terrible shape. And it certainly hasn’t gotten any better. Sometimes, taxes must be raised when it’s for the good of the many, especially when it’s talking about law enforcement. They need the best equipment. They need a new jail.

To the caller on Sunday’s Sound Off speaking of the deer in North Carolina having viruses, I can assure her or him or whoever that come about the third weekend in October, there’s going to be some deer here in eastern North Carolina and Beaufort County that’s gonna be terrible sick. They gonna come down with a fatal case of lead poisoning.
