A local restaurant continues its monthly fundraising campaign Tuesday, which will benefit Ruth’s House.

On Tuesday, Apollo Steakhouse restaurateur, Angel Borg, welcomes Keith Kidwell as the monthly Celebrity Chef, helping Ruth’s House. This is the third installment of the local Celebrity Chefs, which assists the Washington-based domestic abuse shelter.

Kidwell’s menu includes a cabbage patch stew, lemon broccoli chicken and a rib eye steak. The dessert menu features homemade apple pie.

Following Kidwell’s appearance as a Celebrity Chef, Apollo’s will have two events in August to assist local nonprofits.

Aug. 13 Don Cox is planning to take his turn in the kitchen as the fourth Celebrity Chef. His menu is yet to be determined.

“The more of these we do, the more charity benefits so everybody is taking a turn in the kitchen,” Borg said.

The second fundraiser in August for Apollo’s is Aug. 21. Borg is hosting a dinner theater, which will be an improv show, benefiting Washington Cat Rescue.

“Washington Cat Rescue is a trap, spade and neuter and release program,” Borg said. “Because of their efforts they have been able to keep the animal population down.”

The shelter feeds and gives the cats medical attention before releasing the cats back into the wild, according to Borg.

“They are out of money and this is perfect for us because we would like to see those cats healthy and not breeding,” Borg said.

Apollo’s Steakhouse had planned a dinner theater for the third Thursday of every month, with proceeds going to benefit local charities.

“With dinner theater you can expect a performance and a menu to choose from, with seating at 6:30 p.m. and the show at 7:30 p.m.,” Borg said. “We’re going to try and do some interesting stuff for the dinner theater.”
