From the Pamlico River Quilters’ Guild

The Pamlico River Quilters’ Guild proudly presents its 20th quilt show “Rainbow of Quilts” on Sept. 26-27, 2014, at the Washington Civic Center. The quilt show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 26 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 27 and will feature quilts made by guild members, many of whom learned the art of quilting from their mothers and grandmothers. The nonprofit Washington guild, which was founded 30 years ago, welcomes quilters of all ages and abilities.

The 2014 quilt show will offer a quality judged show of many categories, including hand and machine quilted bed and smaller quilts, art quilts, wall hangings, home-décor projects and wearable quilted clothing. Quilt-related demonstrations, such as a simple hands-on workshop for children, will be featured. There will also be vendors, an antique quilt bed turning, a boutique of handcrafted items for gifts and a raffle quilt that will be won by some lucky attendee. Admission to the show is $4.

The Washington Civic Center is located at 110 N. Gladden St., Washington. For more information: Kathy Schaffter, (252)946-1927.
