Agribusiness leader joins First Bank Advisory Board

First Bank is pleased to announce that Tideland EMC Board President Paul Sasnett has joined the Local Advisory Board. Sasnett brings over 33 years of agribusiness experience to his new position.

William Taylor, III, First Bank Senior Vice President/ Area Executive. “His agricultural heritage, deep knowledge of agribusiness as a proven and successful grower, and his commitment to our community makes him an excellent addition to our First Bank family.”

A longtime Beaufort County resident, Sasnett graduated from Bath High School in 1981 and started his career in farming and aquaculture. He currently serves as President of Sasnett Farms, Inc. and Grassy Acre Fish Farm, LLC.

An active member of the community, Sasnett is a member of the Small Grain Growers Association and NC Soybean Growers Association, and was a past member of the Flue Cured Growers Association.

He has also served over 10 years on the Tideland EMC Board where he has held the positions of Treasurer and currently serves as President.

In 2000, Sasnett was honored by being named one of the NICE Young Cooperator National Ambassadors and the North Carolina Outstanding Young Cooperators.

Sasnett currently resides in Washington with his wife, Amy Davis Sasnett, a Quality Nurse Specialist at Vidant Health. He also has four children, Candice, Amanda, Kassie, and Reid.
