FAY O. SNOW

Mrs. Fay Oden Snow, age 79, a resident of 303 West 15th Street, Washington, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family and caregiver Dorothy Shaffer.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Oakdale Cemetery, officiated by Dr. Lance Perry.  A visitation will be held after the graveside service.

Mrs. Snow was born on October 28, 1934 in Washington, N.C.   She was the daughter of the late James Samuel Oden and Sadie Mae Cutler Snow.  Mrs. Snow was a graduate of the original Washington High School in 1953.  She married Kenneth C. Snow on October 3, 1954 and worked with him and his family at Beaufort Equipment Company for 50 years. Mrs. Snow was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington, a member of the Trinity Sunday School class and a member of Circle 2.  Before her declining health, Mrs. Snow was an avid reader.  She also enjoyed golf, bridge, needlework, traveling with friends and the Pamlico River.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth C. Snow of 59 years; two sons, Kenneth C. Snow, Jr. and wife Connie of Washington, Samuel Oden Snow and wife Laurie of Washington; a daughter, Teresa S. DeMartin and husband Frank of Cary, N.C.; three grandchildren, Samuel Payne Snow of Greenville and Washington, Ashleigh Nicole DeMartin of Wilmington, N.C., and Joseph Christopher DeMartin of Appalachian College, Boone, N.C.; a brother in law, Eddie Snow and wife, Barbara of Washington; a sister in law, Annie Mae Oden of Elizabeth City; two nieces,  Cathy Snow of Washington, Anne Oden Forehand of Elizabeth City; two nephews, Logan Oden of Elizabeth City, Don Oden, Jr. of Washington and a cousin, Billy Snow of Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in laws, Columbus and Odell Snow; two brothers, Logan Wallace (Wally) Oden of Elizabeth City, James McDonald Oden and sister in law, Doris Oden of Washington.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care extended by Asera Hospice Care, Golden Way, and caregivers, Dorothy Shaffer and Mona Holley.
