From North Carolina Estuarium

Join the North Carolina Estuarium to learn what astronomy has to do with Halloween and other holidays in the program, “Equinox, Solstice, Hershey and Hallmark,” on Oct. 29 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This program will take place on the Pamlico River aboard the Tall Ship Schooner Jeanie B., which is docked on the Washington waterfront. East Carolina University biology professor and veteran sailor Dr. Lee Sutton will illuminate the night sky by describing things ancient peoples saw in the stars, with a particular focus on the historical and celestial significance of Halloween and why it falls where it does in our calendar.
This program costs $40 per person, and is limited to 25 people. Pre-registration is required. All proceeds will go to the Estuarium. Call 252-948-0000 to register or get more information. Program will be held in the Estuarium in case of inclement weather.

The Estuarium is a facility of the Partnership for the Sounds and the Grassroots Science Museums of NC.
