From the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit

 

On Feb. 13, 2014, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Vernon Holloway, 44, of 2850 Pungo Creek Road, Pinetown. Holloway was charged with obtaining controlled substance by misrepresentation/fraud (doctor shopping) and trafficking in opium.

Holloway’s arrest stemmed from investigators receiving complaints that Holloway was selling his prescription pain medication. Investigators learned that Holloway was doctor shopping and obtained a prescription by fraud. Investigators arrested Holloway after he had the fraudulent prescription filled.

Holloway was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $3,000 secured bond.
