To the Editor:

I am a  mother and grandmother, and I am confused about the program outlined by the Chamber of Commerce pertaining to the Summer Festival, scheduled for June 10-11. I was of the opinion that this is a family affair, yet when I look at the ad in our Daily News, I see advertised a beer garden on both Friday and Saturday nights from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Something is wrong with this picture. What is wrong with a lemonade garden, and making available good and wholesome things that the entire family can enjoy?

The Summer Festival should be about fun for the whole family – crafts, rides, soda pop, lemonade, peanuts, popcorn, music, Cracker Jacks and homemade ice cream. I am disappointed in the program planned by the Chamber of Commerce and hope this will be changed in the future.
