To the Editor:
The Turnage Theater is offering a rare “triple play” beginning today at 8 p.m. with a free, sing-along showing of “Grease,” the classic movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Dress up along with sponsors Scott Campbell and Laura Scoble, and plan to make a donation if you wish, but come knowing you’re in for a treat.
Tuesday night at 7 p.m., the great Harriet Tubman will be brought to life by visiting artist Joyce Grear, a fabulous storyteller who has built her career on first-person interpretations of famous historical figures. Grear is appearing for this free performance thanks to the Beaufort County Arts Council, the Turnage’s frequent Partner. She will spend three days in our elementary schools and at our senior center.
Cap off the Turnage’s triple-play week by joining us for the gala opening of our fifth season on Friday  for Sandy Hackett’s “Rat Pack Show.” We’ll have Las Vegas’ No. 1 show live and on stage in the beautifully restored Turnage, beginning with a buffet meal and beverages at 7 p.m., followed by the performance at 8 p.m.
This is a primary fundraiser for the Turnage. and tickets are $75 each for dinner and the show, or $40 each for the show only. What a wonderful way to lose our post-Hurricane Irene blues! Come to the Turnage’s triple-play week featuring a movie, a dramatic presentation and topped off with a show straight from Las Vegas.  Want more information? Visit turnagetheater.com or call 975-1191.
