Thank you for your kind editorial about the Big Sweep in Beaufort County taking place this Friday, October 5, and Saturday, October 20. Other groups have contributed to the Big Sweep success this year: Friends of Crystal Beach had their cleanup on September 8, and Belhaven Yacht Club cleaned their beaches on September 15. First Citizens Bank has acted as courier and liaison between the Raleigh headquarters and Beaufort County Big Sweepers for many years, and we are very grateful for their continued support.
Please call the Estuarium at 252-948-0000 if you would like to ride the River Roving pontoon boat to clean up the river on October 5. Another alternative is to get a group together and sweep up your own neighborhood. Beaufort County will be a much more beautiful place if we all pitch in and work together.
