James Gerod Powell, 78, of Roper, died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at his home. A funeral will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ, Roper with Mark Wilmoth and Arnold Pressey officiating. Burial will follow in the Davenport family cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 12,  from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
