Washington’s Devon Van Cura continued his hot streak and ended with a first place finish at the Jolly Roger’s Invitational on Saturday.
“Devon looked like he was on a mission,” said Head Coach Daniel Riggs. “You definitely could tell his knee injury was not causing him to be hesitant or cautious like it was the past few weeks.”
The team would mirror Van Cura’s success, finishing eighth overall. Thomas Remick picked up two pins, a decision and a loss to Cary’s Mark Mulligan, just his third this season.
Jason Gardner, Ian Stroud, Kyle Krajewski and Carlie Jackson each went 2-2 in their respective weight classes, while Chris Bohn improved his season record to 22-10 with four wins at the tournament.
The team heads to Farmville Central High School today for the second to last dual meet of the season before the conference tournament.
