CHOCOWINITY — Finding it difficult to keep your pet clean and a lack of funds to do so on a regular basis? Barks and Bubbles Pet Salon, an emerging pet grooming business in Chocowinity, offers “different types of grooming packages to the people of Beaufort County to make it more affordable for them to get their pets groomed more often.”
Susan Lundy, a Beaufort County native, will host the grand opening of the pet salon March 29 at 11 a.m. Fifty percent of the bath and haircut proceeds from that day will be donated to the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility. Lundy also will offer free nail trims for pets during Barks and Bubbles’ grand opening.
Lundy attended school at Groomingdale’s Academy in Havelock for a year, graduating in August 2002. She is certified in dog grooming and safety. She has been working with animals for 16 years. Her handling experience includes cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs.
“I have been grooming for about 13 years,” said Lundy. “I thought it was time to branch out and open my own business.”
Barks and Bubbles Pet Salon is located at 41 N.C. Highway 33 West in Chocowinity. After the grand opening, the salon will operate Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday hours (requests only) will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Currently, Lundy is operating by appointment only until the salon’s grand opening.
