CHOCOWINITY — At Chocowinity Primary School, Halloween isn’t just for children.
In fact, most of the staff made sure the day was a memorable one for all the students.
Once again this year, the school celebrated favorite books by inviting students who had met their reading goals to come to school dressed as characters from children’s books. And once again, staff members joined in the fun.
Snow White led a merry band of dwarfs, joined by the Queen and the Prince, and other favorites like Mary Poppins, the Magic School Bus, Pinkalicious, Cat in the Hat, Waldo, Pete the Cat, Raggedy Ann and a bevy of witches were seen roaming the halls the day of Halloween.
“Book character dress-up day is a wonderful opportunity for the CPS staff to help the characters from the books come alive for the students,” said school librarian Summer Dail, who spent Oct. 31 dressed as Snow White. “Staff involvement helps to spark an interest in books that our students may not have read. It also lets our students see how fun and entertaining reading can be through our involvement and excitement.”
