Washington drops third in a row

Holton Ahlers accounted threw for five touchdowns and ran in another to lead Conley to a 44-7 rout of Washington on Monday. The win keeps the Vikings’ undefeated start alive while Washington drops to 0-3 to begin the 2016 campaign.

A safety put Conley on the board first in the opening period. Ahlers then connected with CJ Johnson on a 38-yard touchdown pass to put the Vikings ahead 9-0.

The Pam Pack was able to hold off its visitors throughout most of the second quarter until the Vikings found the end zone thrice in the final four minutes of the half. Ahlers and “Duce” Fuller hooked up for a pair of touchdowns in the waning minutes of the quarter. A 3-yard run by Ahlers sandwiched between the passing strikes put Conley ahead, 30-0, at halftime.

Johnson hauled in two more touchdown passes in the second half, including on for 90 yards.

Suae Poe ripped off a 22-yard touchdown run with 7:58 left in the game, marking the Pam Pack’s first touchdown of the season.

Washington gets a much-needed week off.
