Bath Pirates win Beaufort County Brawl

The Bath Pirates edged Chocowinity in a pitcher’s duel in the championship game of the Beaufort County Brawl. Chocowinity took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth and nearly rode it out, but the Indians conceded two Pirate runs in the bottom of the seventh. Jack Biggs and Keifer Boyd scored the runs in the 2-1 win. Pirate Ryan Cornelius and Indian Hundley Stallings put on a clinic on the mound. Bath beat Northeast, 8-2, in Tuesday’s first-round game to advance to the title game. Sam Vansant, Braxton Baynor, Cam Craig, Tyler Modlin, Biggs and Cornelius each scored a run in the win. Gavin Rayburn led the team with two runs.
