To the Editor:

As many of you may know, Christmastime is widely known as the season of giving; a time where we can reflect on our blessings, spend time with our loved ones and also remember others who we hold dear with special gifts. As hospital volunteers, we choose to sacrifice a few hours of otherwise free time each week to work unselfishly delivering the gifts of time, kindness, goodwill and love to those who could really use some encouragement and uplifting during their time of personal need. And while Christmas is a time when giving takes place throughout the world and right here in our local community, our Vidant Beaufort volunteer team is here year-round. For us, our commitment to our patients and families to provide a friendly, compassionate, dedicated and service-driven atmosphere is what keeps the Christmas spirit alive here all year-round.
