Feeding friends and neighbors

To the Editor:

This is to all the citizens of Beaufort County. The annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive operated by the members of the U.S. Post Office’s rural postal carriers, did not occur last weekend due to unforeseen circumstances. However, the food we were hoping to receive (about 10,000 pounds) would have fed all pantry clients for almost three weeks.

We are asking our loyal supporters to please place food donations in the donation carts located in our three local Food Lion stores. This will greatly help to bridge the missing food gap created by last week’s problem.

The people of Beaufort County care about each other and have always come forward to assist those of us who need supplemental food. We hope and pray that this will be another example of the great generosity of our “friends and neighbors feeding friends and neighbors.”

Thank you for your help!
