Published 5:47 pm Friday, July 12, 2019
Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.
All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs and ENC Shelter Cats on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.
Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.
Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.
Zoey
Beautiful and friendly — that’s our Zoey, a 1-year-old, bi-color, American shorthair girl. She’s ready to step out, dressed elegantly in classic charcoal gray and pristine white. Charming, engaging and fun, her cheerful personality shines when she feels loved. A truly wonderful cat with a warm and delightful nature, Zoey will be a welcome addition in a variety of good and loving forever home settings. Come meet Zoey, ID No. 0946; you’ll be glad you did. She is available at the shelter.
Adam
Handsome, friendly, treat-loving Adam is listed as a large, 2-year-old male, chocolate/tan retriever mix. This energetic fellow will do best with active owner(s) willing to give him their love and attention, take him along on their outings, give him regular exercise — playtime included — in a fenced area or on a leash, basic obedience training (he knows sit), and a good forever home.
For more information see Facebook’s ENC Shelter Dogs: Adam, ID No. 0951. He’s available at the shelter,
