David Patrick Murphy, 76, recently of Rogers AR, and long-time resident of Washington passed away Friday, August 5, 2022. He was born December 5, 1945, in Washington, D. C. to the late Charles Lee Murphy and June Lazell Miller Murphy, who preceded him. David grew up with his family in Suitland, Maryland and spent a lot of time with his grandmother in West Virginia. Following graduation from Suitland High School, he enrolled in Moody Bible Institute.  In Chicago he met, and married, his wife of 55 years, Carey Murphy. Afterwards, they relocated to Colorado where they raised their family.  David spent many years in construction, but also enjoyed ranching and farming for a short time along with computer software sales.  A few years after relocating to Washington, he retired and spent his time gardening and wood working. David and Carey moved to Rogers very recently.  David enjoyed water skiing, fishing, racquetball, bee keeping and traveling across the country on his Harley. His family will always remember his quick wit, creativity, craftsmanship, love for good food (especially Mexican), rooting for the Washington Redskins and the traditional Monday Night Football with home-made pizza! Survivors include his loving wife, Carey Murphy; an aunt, Rubye Murphy of Hutchinson, KS; three daughters, Tonya (Paul) Gozé of Rogers, AR Lora (Stephen Lugo) Murphy of Brooklyn, NY, and Jennifer (Dom) Martinez of Castle Rock, CO; his grandchildren, Caleb, TJ, Calvin, Blaise, Trinity, Katharina, Liberty, and Sammy Gozé as well as Jaycob and Brayton Murphy Freeman; 2 brothers, Dwight (Peggi) Murphy of Riverview, FL and Stephen (Vivian) Murphy of Lake Butler, FL; numerous extended family members and dear friends. A visitation was held from 5 p.m. 7 p.m. on  Friday, August 12, in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug 13, at Trinity Grace Church, 5845 Bellview Road, Rogers, AR.
