To the editor:

On election day for the Biden Trump election in November 2020, I was giving out Democrat voting literature at the parking lot at the Chocowinity EMS Station.

Rep. Keith Kidwell was there and he didn’t like a poster that I had made. He took a picture of my poster and told me the info on the poster wasn’t true.

A few days ago I sent an email to Keith that proved that he was wrong about his objections to my poster. It follows:

In November, 2020 on election day, I was handing out Democrat voting information at the parking lot at the Chocowinity EMS Station. I was in front of a canopy tent next to the Republican canopy tent.

I had made a poster that said “TRUMP CALLS SERVICE MEMBERS LOSERS AND SUCKERS.”

You looked at the sign and said, “That’s not true.”

I said yes it’s true and USMC General Kelly, Trump’s Chief of Staff knows that it is true. You said, “That never happened.”

Now, finally, after remaining silent for years out of respect for Trump, General Kelly has gone on record that the stories about Trump’s disrespect for members of the armed forces is true and that he was personally with Trump at the times he denigrated service members.

So, in effect, you called me a liar.

I served 28 years active duty in the USMC. From 1956 to 1984.

I flew over 250 combat missions in Vietnam and was awarded 14 Air Medals and a Distinguished Flying Cross.

From 1967 to 1970 I flew “Marine One” Presidential Helicopter for presidents LBJ and Nixon. After retiring, I continued serving the public as the Maintenance Director at RDU Airport.

I think you owe me an apology for calling me a liar.

Are you big enough to acknowledge that you were wrong?
