On the issues of gun control, the Second Amendment gives Americans the right to bear arms. This is America, and this is what generations of Americans have fought and died for. Anyone who doesn’t believe in the Second Amendment must not be American. Just remember, guns don’t kill people, people kill people.

If it’s not the runners, it’s the ducks up here about to cause an accident up here on Park Street. Something needs to be done about this. Somebody needs to do something.

I take issue with your Thursday editorial. Our roads in North Carolina are not very good, so that when a bicyclist takes to the road, I think it’s his own responsibility to look out for his own self. The roads just are not good enough to share with bicyclists. A lot of the northern states had better roads, bicycle paths. Even on the highways, we do not. And I hate to say this, it’s like the old saying: momma told you not to come and nothing bad would happen. If you wouldn’t get on the bicycle, you wouldn’t be injured, you wouldn’t get ran over. Because when it comes down to it, a car and a bicycle, a car is going to win every time. There’s just no two ways about it. Maybe if our roads was better, that’d be great.

I wish Toyota would pull out of NASCAR. Don’t anybody remember the USS Arizona? Don’t you remember Pearl Harbor? NASCAR does not need Toyota. Toyota does not need to be into the so-called great American sport of NASCAR.

Please move the red trash container away from the children’s play area in Festival Park. The rotting odor of trash is a problem as well as unsightly.
