Food and Nutrition Services recipients will see their February benefits showing up a little earlier this month, and those benefits may have to last until the Federal government shutdown is resolved.

According to information from the Beaufort County Department of Social Services, February benefits will be loaded to EBT cards on Jan. 20 due to the federal government shutdown.

DSS reminds beneficiaries that these are the only benefits for February, and encourages wise budgeting for buying food in the coming months. Additional benefits cannot be added for future months until the shutdown is resolved.
