Two arrested on heroin charges

On April 25, 2019, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Brad Jones, 36, and Alexander O’berry, 26, both of 444 Minor Run Road in Edward. Jones was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver methadone hydrochloride, a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked. O’berry was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Their arrests stemmed from investigators receiving information that Jones was involved in the use and distribution of heroin. Investigators established surveillance on Jones and conducted a traffic stop on Jones for driving while license revoked. O’berry was a passenger in the vehicle.

K-9 Bodi alerted on the vehicle that Jones was driving. When investigators conducted a search of the vehicle, they found heroin and methadone hydrochloride pills.

Jones was confined in the Beaufort County Detention under a $50,000 secured bond. O’berry was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
