Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

How great to have your election preview edition. You guys did a great job.

In response to the Sound Off comment where the caller says, “Has the Washington Daily News ever printed a column by Gene Lyons in which he is truthful?” If you go to the fact checkers, Gene Lyons receives no Pinnochios for his information in his columns. Maybe this person should check with the fact-checkers before he makes a statement that is untruthful.

I would like to say that by the time this gets in the paper, the election will be over. Why can’t we take the money that Obama and Romney have left over and give that to New York and New Jersey and all those poor people that lost their homes and stuff? That would be a really bright idea, as far as I’m concerned, and it would help Americans and not go into a slush fund or help a foreign country.
