Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

I would like to commend Bartow Houston on the wonderful write-up about Coach Clyde Harding. He was my coach going to school. He was my daughter’s coach. Everything that was said was absolutely true. He spent his whole life looking after kids and spending money – out of his pocket many times – to buy deserving kids a glove or shoes maybe they wouldn’t have had. He was a great man, I’ll tell you. My daughter was also under him as she went through basketball. Clyde Harding is one of the few people, that there should be a big statue somewhere out at Chocowinity School telling what a great man Clyde Harding was, because he truly was. And I’m 76 years old.
