Vidant gratitude

To the Editor,

I would like to take the time to express my gratitude and appreciation for the staff of Vidant Family Medicine in Chocowinity and the staff at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

Two weeks ago, I woke up weak and very sick. My daughter called Vidant Family Medicine in Chocowinity and spoke with Donna (Dr. Triche’s nurse) and she worked me in for the next day. When I awoke on that Tuesday morning, I was so weak that I had to have help with my bath. We arrived at the office and the staff was so nice and caring. Dr. Triche and Donna were very concerned and decided it would be best if she admitted me to Vidant Beaufort Hospital for the flu.

Upon arriving at the hospital, the staff was very compassionate and worked very quickly to get me in a room and hooked up to all my medications. Dr. Phipot was my hospitalist and was very informative and personable. He treated me as if I was one of his family members. All the nursing staff on 3 East was absolutely wonderful.

While I was in the hospital, my daughter, son and his family were all sick with the flu and were unable to take care of me in the hospital. To have staff treat me as if I was a family member made me feel more comfortable and helped my family know that I was being taken well care of.

To have such exceptional care by everyone during this experience helped me to have a speedy recovery. The best way I can express my recent encounter with Vidant Beaufort Hospital and Vidant Family Medicine-Chocowinity is “patient care at its finest.”

Sincerely,

Joyce Congleton
