Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

The man seeking the apology from Bath Elementary School for the incident with his 15-year-old daughter missed the point. Now, everybody in Beaufort County knows that she soiled herself in the bathroom. He should have really thought that through.

Somebody called in talking about the bike race — that one little photo was all it deserved. Well, it’s the same way with the basketball. That doesn’t even deserve a photo.

Please tell me the caller who said that security guards were delivering the meals is joking. Surely, they’re not taking security away from the hospital. I sincerely hope and pray no one is hurt at the hospital while the guards are not there. Sounds like a lawsuit to me.

Sunday’s sports section, May 27, 2012, is a complete farce. There’s no TV listing. There’s nothing in there about sports at all, and I know that there are some sports going on — basketball, French Open tennis, a lot of other things. But I find that out from other sources, not the Washington Daily News.

The only changes I see in Vidant taking over the hospital is that prices have gone up. It doesn’t really make sense. The prices have jumped extraordinarily, be it your primary doctor or the emergency room. I mean how much change did Vidant really do? We have the same doctors and the same nurses, the same receptionists, the same people. Did they really do anything but just slap a name on the building and jack the prices up? I know in my case, they’re making tests and things that Medicare and supplemental insurance won’t pay for so I hope you people who wanted Vidant to take over are happy.
