SOUND OFF: 6/9/12

Published 7:00 pm Friday, June 8, 2012

Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

A Sound Off in Wednesday’s paper said something derogatory about a redneck. I hope they know rednecks are just people that work hard for a living. Maybe they need to put it in the dictionary.

I was just reading the Sound Off thing about the guy talking about “The Dukes of Hazzard” and Andy Griffith. If you are ashamed of Andy Griffith or “The Dukes of Hazzard” please don’t mention you are from North Carolina. That’s who we are.

This is for the person who is complaining about the city giving too much to the county and saying the county has nothing to offer the city: keep in mind that if it weren’t for the county, the dilapidated stores in Washington would all be closed by now.

Shame on you (recent Sound Off submitter) for finding fault with the Washington Daily News for putting the Angels n Camo article on the front page. They are just trying to help kids with disabilities. You have to be a cold-hearted person and hope that you and your family doesn’t have to experience a child with disabilities.

To the person in Sound Off who doesn’t want us to look like “The Dukes of Hazzard” or Andy Griffith: maybe you need to go back to the new North and get out of our old South.
