As I ride down the streets of Washington, I see all these political signs about people running for City Council, etcetera. I invite you as a community, please, please, please, please, please, please do not vote for any incumbent. The only thing they like to do is fight and spar and charge one another. They absolutely do not have the citizens’ concerns or the community concerns at all. They’re not even concerned about themselves as citizens. I once had a very respectful man say, “What self-respecting citizen would want to be a member of that group?” Do not vote for an incumbent. I don’t care who it is, if it’s your father, your mother, your brother, your sister. Just whoever’s not in there, vote for somebody. The next voting time, vote for somebody else. That’s our only chance of survival.
I was just wondering when it would be possible for the county commissioners to come out to us on the coastal areas of Beaufort County? We all just can’t afford the gas to go to the Washington meetings all the time. It sure would be nice if we could get some representation out here. The commissioners owe us that, to have their meetings out here once in a while, on the southeast side as well as the northeast side.
As a teacher, I just cannot believe that the Republicans are jeopardizing everybody’s livelihood, day care, food and anything. This is not right and they need to open the government, raise the debt ceiling because prices are going up anyway. This is just unreal of what they’ve done to the country for spite against a president. The Republicans have just lost all sense of reality. They are not patriotic.
Well, all of the people who are out of a job and can’t go to the park and can’t get your checks, just call Walter B. Jones, Richard Burr, Virginia Foxx, and tell them to pay your mortgage, your rent, buy your food and keep you going until they open the government. This is your congress people working in action. They have shut you down and this is a disgrace. They don’t care about you. All they care about is hurting the president. They, the Republicans, shut this down following a crazy man, Ted Cruz.
I think the article about the Upward sports ministry basketball in Bath is wonderful. However, there is an active league here in Washington. Registration is currently going on. Anyone can call St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 946-8151 and register their child locally here as well.
