Bringing the community great opportunities

Many people in the area may have never even had the chance to attend a concert before, but next month, that opportunity will present itself locally.
Local Christian radio station 98.7 FM The Bridge will bring Christian contemporary artist and American Idol finalist Colton Dixon to Transitions Theater in Washington on July 25, something that is a great opportunity for local residents to experience nationally known music.
The Dixon concert will also feature opportunities for locals and those from the surrounding areas to purchase backstage passes for a meet and greet with Dixon, a capability seldom offered with other local concerts.
The Bridge has brought similar opportunities to the area before with its 2013 presentation of another nationally known Christian contemporary act, Phillips, Craig and Dean.
On Oct. 18 at 5 p.m., The Bridge will host The Time of My Life tour, featuring four nationally known artists — the Afters with Christ August, Unspoken and Among the Thirsty — at Festival Park.
The great thing about the opportunities brought to the area as a result of The Bridge’s outreach is it brings artists that area residents hear on the station’s broadcast daily. The messages of inspiration and encouragement portrayed in the station’s daily broadcasting serves as a system of support in the lives of its listeners, and to have one of those artists perform locally, means something.
The upcoming concerts are a great activity for Beaufort County residents and those of surrounding areas. The event serves as something that is safe, enjoyable and positive in which people can participate.
Show support for The Bridge by attending and inviting friends and family. Through support from the community, The Bridge may well be able to continue to host similar events and bring in-demand Christian artists to the area.
