SOUND OFF, Aug. 10

Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

I have read the Washington Daily News, and Walter Williams has interesting columns. It certainly is worth it once to read it. Sometimes I wonder about some of the programs that must be involved with some of our taxpayer fees. I can’t help but wonder really what we are paying for, and what we’re encouraging, what kind of behavior and so on.

With regard to the Aurora, Colo., shootings: more guns would not have resulted in less death and injuries. Six, so-called legally armed people each firing a 15-round clip in a dark theater at a person dressed in a black ballistic suit might well have resulted in an additional 60 to 90 dead and injured.
