Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

It’s a crying shame with all these homeless people or people who need their homes worked on around Beaufort County, but we send our children from our churches to Mexico to work on theirs. I think we need to take care of our own first.

In regards to the car for Beaufort County Community College, anyone that has ever worked for the state should know that you do not select the color or the automobile, cars are state-issued and they usually replace a high-mileage vehicle. Sounds like a disgruntled employee at the community college to me.

I love the recent column by Donna Brazile. It is to the point exactly. We need compromise, and the Republicans don’t want to use that word because they think it’s a bad word, but our country has been governed by compromise ever since our Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution. So we do need compromise for the common good of the country and the people of this great country. And to not compromise because the president in not white, but black and white, is a very bad shame. And it’s an indictment on the country as to how ugly and hateful so-called Christians can be. It’s sad.

I think all these Obama supporters around this area need to be made to take a history on Obama and then go see the movie “2016” so they can be enlightened.

I saw on TV where Bill Clinton said the middle-class people didn’t keep him going when he was president and they’re not keeping Obama going, that they need to get out there and do more. So you middle-class people take heed.
