From the Beaufort County Department of Social Services

 

Applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program will begin at the Beaufort County Department of Social Services on Monday, December 1, 2014 and will go through December 31,2014 or until funds are exhausted. Applications will be taken with households that contain at least one household member age 60 or older or a disabled person receiving services through the Division of Aging and Adult Services. If funds remain available after December 31,2014 any other eligible households may apply during January through the end of March. Payments will be made directly to the service provider, such as power, gas or oil companies. For more information, please contact the Beaufort County Department of Social Services.

Applications will also be taken at other locations on the following dates and times:

Aurora Community Center, Aurora: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 3 and Dec. 10;

Martha’s Project, Belhaven: from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 2 and Dec. 9.
