Two-part seminar on crafts and arts marketing offered by BCCC

The Small Business Center at Beaufort County Community College will offer a two-part seminar on marketing for artists and craftsmen in April and May.

The first session, which will help artists and craftsmen develop a marketing plan, will be 2 to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 30. This session will emphasize excellence in product as well as efficient ways to broaden public awareness of an artist’s or craftsman’s wares. Instructor Linda Rozelle will also teach participants to keep track of expenses to ensure profitability and tactics to approach independent shops and galleries.

The second session will focus on establishing a marketing plan that is designed to increase the artist’s or craftsman’s bottom line focusing on a low or no-budget marketing plan. Rozelle will help participants design booths at shows, design logos to appear on business cards and flyers and prepare press releases. This session will be 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, May 1.

Both sessions will be held in Room 828 of Building 8 on the BCCC campus.

It will also be available via video streaming for those who cannot attend the sessions at the college.
