Pets of the Week: Feb. 22, 2020

Published 7:43 am Saturday, February 22, 2020

During the month of February, Beaufort County veterinary hospitals will conduct spaying and neutering procedures at reduced rates for cats and dogs. Appointments prior to the operation are necessary and are being taken now. Call to make your appointment at one of the following veterinary hospitals:

  • Chocowinity Veterinary Hospital, 252-946-9000
  • Pamlico Animal Hospital, 252-946-2834
  • Tar River Animal Hospital, 252-946-2417

In addition to the reduced rates, the Humane Society of Beaufort County will give financial assistance where necessary. For more information, call 252-946-1591. This offer is open to residents of Beaufort County.

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs and ENC Shelter Cats on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.
